Born in England in 1944, Morant worked and exhibited in London and Southern England until moving to Christchurch in 1973.  While initially academically trained in art, he broke away to follow his own path of expression.  From 1986 he exhibited in Connecticut, New York, London and Tokyo.  He moved to New York in 1989 and continued to regularly exhibit in Manhattan and London. 


In 2006, following considerable success in New York, Morant and his wife spent six weeks in Italy where he exhibited with Trevisan International Art in Ferrara at the Castle Estense. Here his work won significant recognition with the award for ‘The Manifestation Of The Spirit Through Art’.  Morant was selected to exhibit at the Florence Biennale where he was presented with the ‘Premio alla Carrierra’ –‘The Lorenzo Il Magnifico Award for ‘Lifetime Achievement in Art’.


Morant currently lives and works in Christchurch.
